Ask and the sky will come down.

Dear Friends,

My son talks in his sleep. ALOT.

Last month, he shot out of bed and exclaimed “Ask and the sky will come down”.

It had me all worked up about WHY it has taken me sooo long to ask for support, when I know that all these years researching and working with people has granted me a unique vision of what is needed for HEALING at this time on our beloved Mother Earth.

Our cultural narrative around “asking for support” makes it hard to write this, I won’t lie.

Have you ever cringed at asking for something you need to thrive?

Have you ever resolved to do something yourself, to avoid the discomfort of asking for help?

If so, you are not alone!

In our culture, asking for support is a last resort.

I don’t believe that serves anyone.

And I don’t want to wait.

Asking can be a sign of grit, that we are ready to weave our word and our will.

Asking for support is brave, regardless of what dominate narrative has to say about it.

If you know me well, you know I have wanted to write a book for years. If you know me really well then you also know I am a never-married, single mother up against some pretty massive systemic injustice - living on a beautiful Island where frankly, people just have no idea what we have endured as a family to remain living here, and I for one - didn’t feel to make it public knowledge. I have been focused on giving, contributing and serving and now - it’s time to ask for what I need to KEEP SERVING.

And, I hope that by asking for what I need that my work can reach more people, in a deeper way. I also hope that by reading this YOU GO OUT and ask for support, be brave, get a little uncomfortable to PRACTICE RECEIVING WITH ME.

Are you ready for my ASK?

It is for the sake of Art.

It is for the sake of Healing.

Intro to The Great Re-Mothering Book Writing Project & Jenna McDonald (as more than just a yoga teacher)

Jenna McDonald is a mighty motherer of two-spirited children, who has dedicated her life to deep wellness, through the preservation of yogic arts and the wild, sacred feminine

Her love of nature, natural birthing, and mothering has informed her desire to help herself and others integrate earth-honoring, mother-honoring ways of being as central to health and wellness. She has grown a Yoga Training Studio and taught embodied leadership, breathwork, and asana for over 15 years, but most of her hours are docked as: a Motherer.

After graduating with an MA in Transformative Leadership from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) in August of 2021, she set out to write a book at the suggestion of her professors, who encouraged her to take her theory of Matricentric-Liberation Leadership Philosophy into a fully developed manuscript.

They felt the work could be a contribution to futuring, leadership theory, consciousness studies, and everyday healing in the context of a post-normal world.

The book merges over a decade of research, practice, and exposure to master teachers on the subjects of Vedanta (Upanishadic Teachings), 8-Limbed Yoga, The Bhagavad Gita, Wild-Woman Wisdom Teachings, Decolonizing Methodologies, and Matricentric, Embodied Ways of Knowing.

The Great Re-Mothering Book Writing Project entails writing, compiling research, and editing a book on the intersectionality of mothering, spirituality, and our potentially imperative transition from Market Economy Culture (MEC) to an abundant, prosperous Gift Economy Culture (GEC) for planetary survival.

The goal is to create a body of work accessible to all women, mothers, and motherers (including men) interested in a pivot towards deep sustainability, healing of culture, and the planet earth - beginning with their own awareness.

The book will blend teachings, stories, and praxis for helping readers align their lives with their gift/purpose/contribution, and the gifting nature of creation. Her work is in framing liberation as a form of co-regulation with all of humanity and all of life, and re-integrating parts of self/other in a work that may be titled; The Great Re-Mothering.

With Love and Receptivity,

PS. Once I raise $1,000 USD I can apply for grants as well under my 501c3 umbrella! So help get me on my way, today!

Thanks again for taking the time to read through the vision!

Oftentimes, our giving practices land in the hands of larger organizations who allocate funds as they choose. Umbrella nonprofits are changing that by restoring the capacity for communities to make a difference in the lives of individual community members through sponsorship and funding - while also providing the benefit of tax deductible giving to the giver.

PPS. Areya told me to share this “best picture of us” also, so from my family to yours…ALL OUR BEST!
